Stamped concrete is a foundation used for a patio that is made from concrete and is textured, patterned or embossed to resemble brick, flagstone, marble, slate, stone, tile or wood. It is commonly used for driveways, patios, pool decking and walkways. It can be less expensive than the authentic materials such as those listed above.
The base color, accent color as well as the stamping pattern can be altered to reflect the design and appearance needed. With an increase in popularity starting in the 1970’s stamped concrete has continued to grow with an increasing amount of stamping patterns, textures, as well as new stain colors.
